NOTICE TO ALL RETIREES

Recently, The United States Department of Labor issued a notice of a proposed Prohibited Transaction Exemption (PTE) that has been filed with the Department of Labor (DOL). The application for the (PTE) is a routine part of the process in migrating retiree health care benefits to the VEBA trust, which will be effective 01-01-2010. (DOL) regulations require that the notice be sent to all beneficiaries of the UAW Chrysler Retiree Medical Benefits Plan, so a copy was mailed to all UAW retirees. Retirees do not need to do anything in response to the mailing.
